Clayton Community Library Foundation

The Clayton Community Library Foundation (CCLF) was formed in 1989 to bring a library to Clayton. Working together with the city of Clayton and the Contra Costa County Library System, CCLF helped write the grant application which obtained Proposition 85 funds to build the Clayton Community Library.

The Clayton Community Library opened in March 1995 as a result of this combined effort and has been well used by the local community since it opened.  CCLF continues to work on fund raising and volunteer programs. To date, CCLF has raised over $250,000 for books, electronics, furniture and programs. These funds are raised by Used Book Sales, Foundation Memberships, community fund-raisers, corporate donations/matching grants, and foundation grants.

The library has a well-rounded collection of books as well as DVDs, recorded books and music CDs. The Parent/Child Play and Learn Center contains materials on early childhood learning and other parenting issues. The library provides internet and technology access for all patrons. The library also offers a variety of programs for children, teens and adults.

The Clayton Community Library brings knowledge to our fingertips through books, music and technology, opening minds to new people, cultures, and ideas.
