About

Clayton Community Library Foundation

The Clayton Community Library Foundation, formed in 1989, worked with the City of Clayton and the Contra Costa County Library to bring a library to Clayton. The Clayton Community Library opened in March 1995 as a result of this combined effort and has been well used by the local community since it opened.

The library has a well-rounded collection of books as well as videos, recorded books and music CDs. The Parent/Child Play and Learn Center contains materials on early childhood learning and other parenting issues. The library also offers a variety of programs for children, teens and adults.

The Clayton Community Library brings knowledge to our fingertips through books, music and technology, opening minds to new people, cultures, and ideas.

Parking

Clayton Library offers visitors 60 free parking spaces in the library parking lots, three of which are designated for patrons with disabled license plates or parking placards. Additional parking is available across the creek from the library as well as in the Clayton City parking lot.
