“The only thing that you absolutely need to know, is the location of the library.” – Albert Einstein
Clayton Community Library Foundation
The Clayton Community Library Foundation, formed in 1989, worked with the City of Clayton and the Contra Costa County Library to bring a library to Clayton. The Clayton Community Library opened in March 1995 and quickly gained community support.
Our Mission
Like all public libraries, the Clayton branch of the Contra Costa Library faces challenges due to limited funds. Public libraries primarily rely on local tax revenues for funding. Often, it is simply not enough to offer the books, services, and programs the Clayton community deserves.
The Clayton Community Library Foundation raises funds though:
- Membership
- Donations
- Book Sales
- Grants
Library Services Funded by CCLF include:
- New Book purchases
- Newspapers/Magazines
- CD/DVDs
- Games
- A 3-D Printer
- Summer Reading Program
- Teen Programs
- Adult Programs
The Clayton Community Library brings knowledge to our fingertips through books, music and technology, opening minds to new people, cultures, and ideas.
