Our History:

1989

1991

March: Clayton Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) decides to take on Project: Build a Library for the Clayton Community. City of Clayton receives Prop. 85 Grant of $2.8 million (65%) to build a library.
June: Steering Committee forms; includes representatives from all major community organizations.

1994

July: Clayton Community Library Foundation is created to raise money for the project. March 12: Groundbreaking ceremony for Clayton Library.

1990

August: City approves $542,000 for book collection.
CCLF begins fund-raising for books and electronics.

1995

  March 4: Completed Library's Grand Opening Celebration
